How many episodes will there be in Big Sky season 3?
We understand that the previous season has been extended to a total of 18 episodes and ABC has not yet made an official announcement on the number of episodes for this season. With that in mind, be prepared to air 16 more episodes after this one. However, once ABC has made their official statement, we will update this section.
At least there is no such thing on ABC. Big Sky Season 3 will now be known as Big Sky: Deadly Trails and EW has the exclusive first look at the teaser for the upcoming season.
The new nickname in no way exaggerates the situation. A hiker goes missing from the trailer, prompting Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick), Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) and new sheriff Beau Arlen (Jensen Ackles) to head into the woods to look for him or her.
There they meet Sunny Barnes, played by Reba McEntire, the head of a family backcountry gear company. Sunny Barnes seems to have an unusual number of ties to missing people cases.
There’s a lot to look forward to in the upcoming debut of Big Sky Season 3, which will take place in exactly one week. The crime-drama has a new moniker — it now goes by the byline Deadly Trails, which is likely a nod to what will follow Katheryn Winnick’s character Jenny Hoyt and Kylie Bunbury’s character Cassie Dewell this season — and two new series regulars Deal with it.
Reba McEntire, a legend in the country music world, will star as Sunny Brick, who has been described as “the unpredictable matriarch of the Brick Family” and “a successful backcountry outfitter with a secret history of missing a clientele,” all of which sound suspicious Everybody out. The third season will take place during one of Sunny’s wanderings, which will eventually turn out to be the hardest mystery Jenny and Cassie have ever had to solve.
The character of Beau Arlen played by Jensen Ackles
The actor, best known for his roles on ‘Supernatural’ and ‘The Boys,’ has been cast for a recurring role in the show’s upcoming third season, and Ackles will retain his role as the recently appointed sheriff, who will serve as Jenny’s boss acts.
McEntire and Ackles discussed their interest in Big Sky during a panel discussion held by ABC on September 14 as part of the Television Critics Association summer press tour. “We couldn’t refuse,” added McEntire. “When I come into the show with such wonderful characters that are already established and then with great storylines and things that I look forward to every time I get a script to see what happened – then I know the audience will be entertained,” said the actor. “Coming into the show with such wonderful characters already established.”
“When my first conversation was with Elwood, he mentioned that he was going to shake things up for Season 3, and I was like, well, I can shake,” Ackles said. “When I first spoke to Elwoo, he was talking about shaking up some things for Season 3.” He also made a light-hearted remark, saying, “I feel like I’m being typecast a bit because I’m just a guy from Texas am wearing boots because I’m literally wearing boots right now and I’m from Texas.”
Ackles was also asked about the roles he’s played in the past, such as Soldier Boy on The Boys, and if he’s particularly drawn to characters who represent their own interpretation of justice. Ackles explained, “I think there’s a certain quality about these characters that I would probably watch myself and find entertaining.” “I think there’s a certain aspect of these people that I would probably find entertaining myself.” “What it is then probably make it so that I enjoy playing it and I’m successful at it,” I said, “by default.”
ABC gets credit for that.
The first two seasons of the show, which is set in Helena, Montana, presented us with a whole host of tense scenarios, but it seems that season three will take things to a new level, which has to do with bodies that are on the Hoods from cars land and blood drips from a cave and a hiker hurtling over the edge of a cliff.
Though some of the show’s most recognizable faces (and villains, like Ronald and the Legarski brothers) have passed away, it’s time to welcome a new cast of characters. After making his debut in the season 2 finale as a good old Texas boy named Beau Arlen, Ackles returns to the show and is promoted to a series regular.
Then there’s McEntire, who, as the affable matriarch of the family, undoubtedly keeps more than a few things to herself.
However, with Dewell and Hoyt working on the case, there’s no question in our minds that the mystery will be solved (albeit with a lot of bumps along the way).
Elwood Reid is back at the helm of the show, although creator David E. Kelley will continue to executive produce.
