The fact that Elizabeth Wettlaufer was a nurse in Ontario is possibly the most terrifying aspect of her. Wettlaufer committed several murders while employed at Caressant Care, a Woodstock retirement community. According to Oxygen, she earned her bachelor’s degree from London Baptist Bible College and enrolled as a registered nurse in 1995.

According to Oxygen, Elizabeth Wettlaufer has battled a number of mental illnesses, including depression and borderline personality disorder. She also reportedly struggled with drug addiction and sexual identity issues.

In 1997 she married a truck driver named Daniel Wettlaufer. Apparently, the couple divorced in 2008. According to CTV News, Wettlaufer’s mental health suffered from the divorce, which also increased her stress levels.

According to Global News, Wettlaufer has reportedly received repeated warnings from the caretaker of the Caressant Care retirement home. In addition, other documents showed that she had committed numerous “medication errors.” She apparently had several suspensions before being finally released from home in March 2014.

The daughter of James SILCOX, who was allegedly murdered by Elizabeth Wettlaufer in a Woodstock nursing home, appeared in court with his Bible, according to CTVNews.

The victims Elizabeth Wettlaufer plans to murder are among the most horrifying aspects of her crimes. When she worked as a nurse, she treated elderly people who became her victims. Most of them were between 75 and 96 years old.

According to Oxygen, she gave lethal doses of insulin to eight elderly people in the aforementioned age category. She had also reportedly attempted to kill six other elderly people using the same technique.

Wettlaufer reportedly confessed to numerous people, including her childhood friend, about the murders she committed. She checked into the Center for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto in September 2016.

There she confessed her misdeeds, after which staff alerted authorities, making the center important to her eventual capture. The center also informed the Ontario College of Nurses.

On October 24, 2016, Wettlaufer was taken into custody and charged with eight counts of first-degree murder. After questioning her, police dropped a further six counts, including two counts of aggravated assault and four counts of attempted murder. Ultimately, she was sentenced to eight consecutive life sentences with no chance of parole until 25 years had elapsed.
