Family asks for help as reward for information increased to $5000

Authorities in California say Jolissa Fuentes, 22, has not been seen since Sunday, August 7.

Her family says the last time they saw Jolissa Fuentes was driving her car to an AM/PM gas station in Selma, Calif. on Nebraska Avenue. Although Selma police believe something is wrong, they are not yet investigating the case as a kidnapping.

ABC said the last time they saw Fuentes he was driving a 2011 gray Hyundai Accent with license plate 8MPU766. So far the car has not been found.

First, the Fuentes family offered a $1,000 reward for information on their daughter’s whereabouts. KMJNOW said that number continued to rise because there was no new evidence. It ended up being worth $2000, and now it’s worth $5000.

Before Jolissa went missing, her family said she went to a party and then went to her grandmother’s house to get a bag and some money. The 22-year-old was last seen at 4:06am on Sunday when security cameras caught her buying a snack from the AM/PM petrol station in Selma before driving away.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, her father, Joey Fuentes, said he thought she had been kidnapped because it wasn’t her style to be gone for so long without telling anyone.

Norma Nunez, Jolissa’s mother, also said that her daughter’s sudden disappearance was not in line with her usual behavior, and she said that she too believes there may have been foul play at play:

“It’s not like her to just disappear. She has many friends. She never skips work. We’re on the fourth day that she’s absent from work.”

She said Jolissa was “a brave woman with a kind heart.”

Nunez said Jolissa Fuentes called her sister at 5:26 a.m. Sunday, but her sister didn’t answer the phone. This was her last call recorded on tape.

The Fuentes family also told Fox News that Jolissa liked being in a rural part of Selma where she could enjoy the views.

When asked if Jolissa’s father, Joey Fuentes, had a message for his daughter, he said:

“We love you Jolissa. Come back.”

The case is still under investigation and police are still working with Jolissa Fuentes’ family to find out where her phone was last seen.
