Felicia Taylor: who is she? Why is she arrested?
Following a DWI charge in 2015, Felicia Taylor was arrested for allegedly hitting a car and fled the scene. This was her second arrest.
On July 28, Felicia Taylor, 57, a retired anchor and correspondent for CNN International’s “World Business Today,” was arrested after allegedly hitting another car while driving her white Mercedes, injuring the other driver and then fled the scene, according to Palm Beach Police. The incident report states that Taylor, a 57-year-old woman, ran into the rear bumper of a black Ford being driven by a 24-year-old man when he was stopped in traffic in front of her Mercedes. “The white Mercedes hit his car from behind. According to the report, (him) made contact with the steering wheel, which led to numerous injury lawsuits. However, Taylor’s Mercedes was observed after the collision “fleeing the scene without offering assistance or stopping to provide information,” the report said.
The report said that Taylor, who is well known in the social circles of New York City, the Hamptons and Palm Beach, was then seen twice driving past the scene of the accident in her car, which had “suffered significant frontal damage,” without stopping.The other car was “okay” and Taylor confirmed it was a collision, the officer said, before adding: “Taylor went on to explain that she wanted to return to her home that the accident” not a big problem.” The officer then pulled her over.”

According to Palm Beach police, the 24-year-old Ford driver who was hit by Taylor’s car complained of jaw, head, neck and back problems and was receiving medical attention at the scene. Taylor was checked twice by paramedics but was believed to be unharmed. Taylor told the officer that she came out of The Colony Hotel before the accident, but “when she saw that the Colony Hotel was closed,” Taylor was at a loss for words. Taylor went on to say that she was at a Worth Avenue restaurant before claiming to be at the Royal Poinciana Plaza. No restaurants were found that remembered “Taylor as a guest”. She denied taking any prescription drugs or drinking alcohol, and the officer stated he did not detect any odor of alcohol on her. According to the report, Taylor “also wanted the other driver’s injuries confirmed,” claiming that “the damage to her vehicle was her problem,” adding that it’s “hard to be a good person” and that she didn’t stop at the accident site because she didn’t know she had anything to worry about. However, she denied the allegations.
Taylor was arrested and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail, where she was charged with reckless driving and escaping a serious collision. She pleaded not guilty and was released on $3,000 bail. Police removed their Mercedes and discovered a bottle of white wine that was 3/4 full along with a silver thermos that was 3/4 full with “an unknown alcoholic beverage.” The thermos and wine bottle were crushed behind the passenger seat “and out of the driver’s reach.
Taylor, who worked for WNBC-TV from 1998 to 2006 and co-hosted Retirement Living TV’s “Daily Cafe” until 2009, was previously arrested on September 4, 2015 for driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol level higher than that Triple the legal limit after hitting another car in the Hamptons, police say. When the collision happened, Taylor was attempting to turn onto Main Street in Sag Harbor. She was taken to Southampton Hospital “for a medical examination” after the late afternoon accident because she was so intoxicated and was later charged with severe DWI.
