His roles on the television shows American Pickers (2010), The Best of American Pickers (2017) and American Dad! (2005) made Frank Fritz a household name in the American television world.
He is best known for his past participation in reality shows on American television. Fritz recently rose to fame after being fired from the American TV series American Pickers. He had already dedicated more than a decade to the initiative.
Mike Wolfe, Frank’s former co-star, was recently hospitalized after suffering a stroke.
Wolfe updated his followers on Instagram, adding a picture of Fritz, 56, from a happier time. Wolfe claimed his former co-star is currently under medical surveillance.
Is Frank Fritz still a patient? Update on Stroke Recovery
American Pickers star Frank Fritz was hospitalized on July 22. Up until this moment, his stroke had had a major impact on him. The 56-year-old requires immediate medical attention due to his advanced age and the fact that he is a single man.
He had a stroke on July 14 and was taken to the hospital afterwards. According to The Sun, as a result of his stroke, Fritz “lay sprawled on the floor and couldn’t speak”. When a friend stopped by to see how he was doing, he made a shocking 911 call.
Mike Wolfe, who performed alongside Fritz until 2021, shared the news of Fritz’s stroke on social media and asked his followers to pray.
According to Wolfe and the 56-year-old father, Fritz’s condition has not changed since then. However, Fritz still has a long recovery ahead of him, according to a Wolfe spokesman who spoke to People on Monday (July 25).
American Pickers premiered on the History Channel in 2010 and followed Fritz and Wolfe as they scoured the country for antiques and treasure.
Fritz’ last American Pickers episode was released in March 2020. The History Channel reports that he officially left the show in July 2021.
Fritz’s exit from the program has also been attributed to a falling out with Mike Wolfe, which took place around the same time the epidemic began. He told The Sun in July he was enrolling in an alcohol treatment facility after being fired from American Pickers.
Additionally, he explained that “the History Channel” didn’t give him a firm response to his request to return to the series.
How is Frank Fritz now?
In July 2022, Frank suffered a stroke that required hospitalization.
This is a really difficult development for Fritz. However, this is not his first significant health issue. Frank has a long history of illnesses and injuries that have prevented him from living his life to the fullest and caused him much agony.
Just a year ago, the “American Pickers” star spoke to The Sun about Crohn’s disease. He’s had this constant digestive tract infection since he was in his early 20s.
Frank also announced that in 2020 he received 77 days of treatment at the Abbey Center in Bettendorf, Iowa. In 2017, the “American Pickers” star was stopped for a first DUI arrest.
Frank Fritz also underwent spinal surgery. Like his previous health condition, this was really serious. Two rods were implanted in his spine during the operation, which also involved 185 stitches.
