Smokepurpp asked Garca to freestyle over one of his tracks, which was the start of Garca’s rap career. With producer Carnage, Garca released “I Shyne” on January 18, 2018. There was increased competition to sign Garca as a result of reports that he had left his previous labels Tha Lights Lobal and Warner Records and that his contract was due was underage when he signed it.
