American Horror Story is a horror anthology show on the FX cable network. It was made by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. The first part of the American Story media series is a standalone miniseries each season, following a different set of characters and locations in the same fictional universe and having their own “beginning, middle, and end.” Some parts of the story in each season are loosely based on things that actually happened. Many actors are in more than one season, and mostly they play new roles. The actors who have come back the most are Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe. Each of them appeared in at least nine of the first eleven seasons. Frances Conroy was eight and Denis O’Hare seven. Other famous actors such as Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts, Adina Porter, Finn Wittrock, Jamie Brewer, Billie Lourd and Leslie Grossman appear in five of the eleven seasons.
The first season, titled Murder House, is set in Los Angeles, California in 2011. It’s about a family that moves into a haunted house. Asylum, the second season, is set in Massachusetts in 1964 and tells the stories of the criminally insane and the people who work there. The third season called “Coven” takes place in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2013 and is about a group of witches fighting people who want to kill them. Freak Show is the fourth season. It takes place in Jupiter, Florida in 1952 and is about an American freak show and its members’ struggle for survival. The fifth season, titled Hotel, is set in Los Angeles, California in 2015 and is about the people who work and stay at a supernatural hotel. Roanoke season six takes place in North Carolina between 2014 and 2016 and is about a remote farmhouse haunted by the dead Roanoke colony. The seventh season called “Cult” takes place in Michigan and is about a cult terrorizing the locals after the 2016 US presidential election. In Apocalypse Season 8, the witches of Coven battle the Antichrist of Murder House to stop the end of the world. In 1984, the ninth season set outside of Los Angeles in the 1980s, the staff of a summer camp reopens 14 years after a massacre. The two-part tenth season, titled “Double Feature,” follows a family in Provincetown, Massachusetts in the year 2021. In the first part, “Red Tide,” they meet the real people who live there. In the second installment, “Death Valley,” a group of camp school students become embroiled in a conspiracy involving the Asylum aliens. In January 2020, FX picked up the show for three more seasons, totaling at least thirteen seasons.
Reviews for each season of American Horror Story have been mixed, but the show as a whole has been well received by television critics. Most of the praise went to the cast, particularly Jessica Lange, who has won two Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award for her roles. James Cromwell, Kathy Bates and Lady Gaga all received awards for their roles. Cromwell, Bates and Gaga have all won Emmys. The show receives good ratings on the FX network, and its first season was the most-watched new cable show of 2011.
Murder House (2011)
The season takes place in 2011 when wife and mother Vivien (Connie Britton), her psychiatrist husband Ben (Dylan McDermott) and their teenage daughter Violet (Taissa Farmiga) move from Boston to Los Angeles to recover from Vivien’s miscarriage to start over. Shortly after the miscarriage and before the move, Ben has an affair with one of his students, which almost breaks up the family. They move into a restored mansion and soon meet housekeeper Moira O’Hara (Frances Conroy and Alexandra Breckenridge), as well as their neighbors Constance Langdon (Jessica Lange) and their daughter Adelaide, who has Down syndrome (Jamie Brewer). The meddling Langdons, incompetent realtor Marcy (Christine Estabrook) and disfigured Larry Harvey (Denis O’Hare), a former mansion resident who is secretly in love with Constance, and Ben’s former student Hayden McClaine (Kate Mara). ), who follows him to Los Angeles, causes trouble for the Harmons. Ben and Vivien try to get back together while Violet, who is depressed, finds solace in one of Ben’s patients, Tate (Evan Peters). The family soon discovers that the house is haunted by the ghosts of everyone who died there, including Charles (Matt Ross) and Nora (Lily Rabe) Montgomery, who built it, and their deformed son Thaddeus (Ben Woolf). , which it is also sometimes called “Infantata”. Flashbacks show the mansion’s previous owners from the 1920’s when it was built to the present day.
Strange Shows (2014–15)
The first season takes place in 1952 in the sleepy town of Jupiter, Florida. It’s about a struggling freak show directed by Elsa Mars (Jessica Lange) trying to make ends meet. Freak shows haven’t been a popular form of entertainment for decades, but Elsa still wants to find a home for her “monsters” and make a name for herself. “Lobster Boy” Jimmy Darling (Evan Peters), who wants to lead a normal life, and his beard-wearing mother Ethel (Kathy Bates), who acts as Elsa’s deputy to keep order in the tent, are also part of their squad. A strongman from Ethel’s past and Jimmy’s biological father, Dell Toledo (Michael Chiklis), and his three-breasted wife, Desiree Dupree (Angela Bassett), join the freak show. Elsa also hires Siamese twin sisters Bette and Dot Tattler (Sarah Paulson) to perform on her show. She does this to get more people to come and save her squad forever. At a time when television is starting to take over the sidelines, these people have to contend with people who treat them badly because of their looks. However, as the season progresses, it becomes clear that many dark beings have moved to Jupiter and are keeping a close eye on the freaks. Stanley (Denis O’Hare), a con man pretending to be a Hollywood executive, shows up with his young apprentice Maggie Esmerelda (Emma Roberts), who begins dating Jimmy. Encouraged by his doting mother Gloria (Frances Conroy), rich and spoiled dandy Mott (Finn Wittrock) to become too interested in the freaks, Bette and Dot in particular. Twisty, a mysterious, deformed killer clown played by John Carroll Lynch, seems to target both freaks and normal people in Jupiter. He is perhaps the most dangerous of all.
