On ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ a medical show on ABC, Dr. Nick Marsh and Dr. Meredith Gray for the first time when Dr. Marsh passed out a few weeks after getting a new kidney.
Long time later, when Meredith drives to Minnesota to meet with Dr. meeting David Hamilton, they cross paths again. They eventually become good friends, allowing Nick to move to Gray Sloan. In the final episode of season 18, Nick and Meredith work together on a surgery that ends very sadly. When they find out how the surgery went, they have a fight and Meredith tells him to go back to Minnesota.
Nick goes back to Minnesota, but he comes back to Gray Sloan to get an organ for transplant surgery. Meredith meets him and invites him to stay at Gray Sloan for a while. So, will he be okay with that? If not, does Nick’s potential return to Minnesota mean Scott Speedman is leaving the show?
Nick Marsh could return to Minnesota
Nick comes to Gray Sloan in the first episode of season nineteen to receive an organ for transplant surgery that will take place at his workplace in Minnesota. Meredith meets him and asks if he would like to go with her to an operation to replace three organs. Because the surgery is tough, Nick goes with her. Meredith asks Nick to stay at Gray Sloan after surgery and gives him the job of residency director. Meredith needs Nick because she doesn’t have enough people to fill the positions she needs at the hospital. She also offers Nick a good financial deal to get him to agree.
Nick says he’ll consider the offer, so it’s possible he may choose not to return to Minnesota and instead focus on the residency program at Gray Sloan. But his final choice will depend on how likely he is to see Meredith again. In the final episode of season 18, Meredith asks him to go to Minnesota, damaging the good relationship they have built. Still, it’s clear that Nick and Meredith like each other. Meredith’s reaction to learning that Nick is in the hospital and her efforts to spend time with him shows how much she desires to get back together with Nick.
If Meredith can convince Nick that she is trying to mend their relationship, he may choose to stay at Gray Sloan and share his life with Meredith rather than return to Minnesota. Nick’s promise that he’ll consider Meredith’s offer shows he’s open to it. If that’s not the case, Nick could ask Meredith to finish moving to Minnesota like she planned. Nick and Meredith could move to Minnesota together. Does this mean Scott Speedman is leaving medical drama?

Does Scott Speedman have plans to leave Grey’s Anatomy?
Scott Speedman isn’t leaving Grey’s Anatomy, at least for now. In a recent interview, Speedman made it clear that the actor will be staying on the show for “a little while.” However, Nick, played by Speedman, will not appear in as many episodes as he did in season 18 due to being demoted from a regular cast member to a guest star. Speedman’s demotion could also mean Nick returning to Minnesota and leaving the series’ main location, Gray Sloan. Prior to season 19, it was said that Ellen Pompeo’s character, Dr. Meredith Grey, would only appear in eight episodes.
Due to Speedman’s demotion and Pompeo’s less screen time, Nick and Meredith may move back to Minnesota and only visit Seattle occasionally like Meredith does in season 18. All in all, we’re lucky that Nick, played by Speedman, is still a part of Grey’s Anatomy, even though he’s been seen less on screen since the end of season 18.
early years
Speedman was born in London to Scottish parents Mary (née Campbell), a primary school teacher and champion runner, and Roy Speedman (1944–1999), a department store buyer. Tracey, his sister, died of cancer on February 8, 2016. When he was four years old, his family moved to Toronto. He was a competitive swimmer and attended the gifted athletes program at Earl Haig Secondary School, which no longer exists. At the 1992 Olympic Trials, Speedman, who was a member of Canada’s junior national swimming team, placed ninth. Shortly thereafter, he injured his neck, which forced him to give up the sport. Speedman got interested in acting to do something else besides the sport. He then studied his craft at the University of Toronto and York University.

Career
A friend told Speedman to go to Toronto Citytv’s Speaker’s Corner, an open forum for viewers, where he said he wanted to try out the role of Robin in the movie Batman Forever, which was currently being cast in Toronto . Although his looks got him an audition, he didn’t get the role that Chris O’Donnell was given. Auditioning gave Speedman the attention he needed and he quickly found an agent and began trying out for TV and film roles in Canada.
Speedman first appeared on television in a 1995 episode of the series Kung Fu: The Legend Continues. That same year he had a recurring role on the show Nancy Drew. After playing a few small roles on television, Speedman decided to move to New York City and study at the Neighborhood Playhouse for a short time before dropping out and returning to his home in Toronto. When he got a call from an American casting agent who wanted to try him out for a new TV show called Felicity, that was his big break. Speedman received critical acclaim for his role as Ben Covington, a cranky college student, opposite Keri Russell’s breakthrough role as Felicity. As soon as Felicity came out, Speedman started getting offers for bigger roles on other shows while he was still on the show. In the film Duets, released in 2000, Speedman played the role of Billy Hannan, played by Gwyneth Paltrow.
After Felicity ended after four years, Speedman quickly found success in films. In 2002 he landed his first major role in a film. He played a novice LAPD detective caught in a web of corruption with Kurt Russell in Dark Blue, a police drama. Speedman next played the husband of a dying woman on the independent drama My Life Without Me, starring fellow Canadian Sarah Polley. Speedman’s work on the film earned him a Golden Wave Award.
Speedman and Kate Beckinsale starred in the supernatural thriller Underworld, which came out later in 2003. Speedman received a Saturn Award in the Cinescape Face of the Future Award category for his role in the stylized film about a vampire and a werewolf. He then worked with James Marsden in the scary film The 24th Day and with Ice Cube in XXX: State of the Union. After the first Underworld film did well, Speedman again played Michael Corvin in the 2006 film Underworld: Evolution. He was in the films Anamorph with Willem Dafoe and Weirdsville with Wes Bentley. Speedman also worked with Liv Tyler in the 2008 horror thriller The Strangers and with Rachel Blanchard in Atom Egoyan’s mystery drama Adoration.
In July 2009, it was said that Speedman would be starring in the film version of Barney’s Version along with Dustin Hoffman and others. Pre-production began in August 2009 and the film was shot in Rome, New York and Canada. Speedman also starred with Lizzy Caplan and Dwight Yoakam in the independent western The Last Rites of Ransom Pride. The 2012 and 2016 sequels, Awakening and Blood Wars, used old footage of Speedman from the first Underworld films. His face was used as a substitute for his character’s brief role in the films. He had a small role in The Vow as Jeremy.
Speedman’s most recent role was as XO Sam Kendal on Last Resort, an ABC military drama that debuted September 27, 2012.
In June 2013, Wes Bentley and Speedman were both cast in Open, an HBO film directed by Ryan Murphy. In 2014 he starred with Julia Stiles in the Llus Qulez Sala thriller Out of the Dark. He has been the main character in several independent films such as Barefoot, The Captive and The Monster.
He played Barry “Baz” Blackwell on the TNT crime drama Animal Kingdom until the first episode of Season 3. In 2018 he appeared as Dr. Nick Marsh guest stars in Grey’s Anatomy. In season 18 he became a regular cast member.
Scott Speedman was born in London, England, to Mary (Campbell), a primary school teacher from Scotland, and Roy Speedman, a department store buyer. He grew up in Toronto, Canada. He wanted to be a swimmer and he had a record that was among the best for freestyle distance. Unfortunately, an accident put an end to that plan. He attended Earl Haig High School in Toronto. From 1994 to 1996 he went to the University of Toronto. In one challenge, he went to a show called “Speakers Corner”. He later tried his hand at the role of Robin in Batman Forever (1995). When Chris O’Donnell got the part, he was able to find an agent. He also worked on Kitchen Party (1997) and Duets (2000), which starred Gwyneth Paltrow. Scott was introduced to the world in 1998 by the show Felicity, which garnered him many fans. When the show ended in 2002, Kate Beckinsale and Bill Nighy’s Underworld, which came out in 2003, was Scott’s big break.
