When the grand jury Monday decided to indict and indict David for murder, it made both Sheriff Jeff Box happy and sad. His office had been investigating the death for nearly a decade.

In October 2019, the Sheriff’s Office investigation was closed and the evidence turned over to Attorney General Danny Goodman’s office. Jeff appreciated that Goodman and his associates took the time to review the case before presenting it to the grand jury on Monday.

In the podcast, they play all the phone calls and recordings they got from people who saw what happened to Karen Swift.

People were able to better understand what happened with Karen through this podcast, and they were grateful to the podcast team for explaining it so clearly.

How did Karen Swift die?

WREG previously said Karen Swift’s car was found on the side of the road about a quarter mile from her home. A group of hunters found her body in a nearby cemetery a month after her death.

After the police searched her home, it again became the focus of attention. On Thursday, 2013, no one answered the door of the Swift home on Willie Johnson Road, north of Dyersburg, despite two cars parked in the driveway.

The two-story home looked quiet, which was a big change from Wednesday night when Dyer County investigators arrived with a search warrant and began looking around.

Karen had filed for a divorce from David Swift just weeks before she disappeared, but the last time anyone saw her she was at home.

The autopsy report was released in November 2018 after being kept secret for seven years. It said Karen died from a blow to the head. She also had broken bones all over her body and was only partially clothed.
