Tulsa King Episode 3: Cast

In the film Tulsa King, Sylvester Stallone plays Dwight Manfredi, a gangster recently released from prison who is sent to Tulsa to start operations for his family. The actor, best known for his roles in Rocky, Rambo and The Expendables, has never starred in his television series. However, he has had guest appearances on several others, such as Las Vegas, Kojak, and Police Story.

Stallone discussed the series in an interview with What to Watch’s sister site, Satellite Week. During the interview, he revealed that when Taylor offered Sheridan the idea, it only took him three seconds to decide he wanted to be part of the production. Other notable aspects of the conversation with Stallone include the following:

What Stallone found appealing about the opportunity: “Ever since I was turned down in 1970 to be one of the 200 extras who essentially stood behind a wedding cake in a scene from The Godfather, I’ve harbored a secret desire to work in the criminal underworld as a Actor. I’ve always wanted to be a part of the underworld. I never would have predicted it in a million years, but I think good things come to those who wait.

What he appreciates most about Dwight is: “I admire the fact that he doesn’t fit the profile of a normal gangster. When he went to prison, he was a completely different person than he is today. He has an enormous appetite for reading and a high level of education. He has spent most of the last 25 years in prison and his favorite authors include Machiavelli, Plato and others from antiquity.”

Compare working on a TV show to working on a film: “It’s harder, it’s much faster and it takes much longer. You must be fast and unpredictable, and you must be able to work with sequences asynchronously. However, maintaining your energy levels is of the utmost importance. The time it took us to finish ten episodes of Tulsa King is comparable to watching five Rocky movies in a row without pausing in between.

Tulsa King Episode 3: Will Dwight Find His Daughter Christine?

Tulsa King Episode 3: More About the Series

Tulsa King will come to Paramount+, as will many of the works Taylor Sheridan has created. The first episodes have already been shot and production started in the spring of this year. Also, it won’t be long before we get to see Sylvester Stallone and the rest of the cast in Tulsa King.

The show premieres on November 22 and will air concurrently with Yellowstone Season 5 on Paramount+ and the Paramount Network. This networking and streaming process has presented some challenges for the company at times, but in the case of Tulsa King, the show needs to be available on both platforms.

The company is making these preparations to give itself the best possible chance of becoming successful. Given how popular Yellowstone is, the fact that Tulsa King and Yellowstone are both currently airing concurrently provides a significant benefit to the show. And since they were both written by Taylor Sheridan, there should be some audience overlap between them.
