As Freeridge Episode 7 begins, Gloria follows Mariluna outside and asks for a cab. Tonio calls her while she waits for Mariluna to start the car
He claims that the woman in the ad is renting a room at his house, only later realizing his name is Gloria. He claims that Mariluna only needed the room for school purposes, which is why he allowed her to rent it out.
Gloria then follows Mariluna to a spacious home in an affluent neighborhood. Gloria is confronted by Mariluna wielding a sword as she approaches the front door. They exchange requests, but Mariluna eventually invites her over.
Cam is upset that Andre started dating Benji so soon after the breakup. Because of what they did to him, Demi claims it was a karmic coincidence. Cam believes that Andre and Benji must have been together before and wants to expose Andre’s duplicity.
Ines admits to Demi that she acted inappropriately. She shows the bullet notebook she took from Gloria. Cinnamon’s vision is detailed in the notebook.
According to Demi, as long as nobody records it with a photo or something similar, it would not be harmful to draw it – just like Ines takes a photo from the side of her cell phone. Demi claims the prediction will come true immediately, so they must track down Cinnamon and enlist her help.
She and Ines discuss different ways to find Cinnamon at Demi’s, but it turns out that Cinnamon is already there. Cinnamon is acquainted with Davina, Demi’s sister, and Davina asked Cinnamon to get her eyebrows done (Cinnamon does this as a side job).

Freeridge Season 1: Recap
Gloria observes a room in Mariluna’s house that is covered in dust and cobwebs and still has the decorations from Mariluna’s husband’s 50th birthday.
She insists on knowing what Mariluna wants. She claimed she rented a room in her house to look for the box since she was tired of stalking Gloria and her friends. Gloria asks for more details. Mariluna inquires about her ideal color.
Cinnamon is truly amazed that her prophecies come true with Demi. However, she cannot predict who will die and advises them to consult an expert. Meanwhile, Cam follows Andre on his cell phone.
She and Gloria both wear pink dresses while at Mariluna’s. Marisol and Mariluna are identical twins, and the two used to pose for each other before Mariluna realized that Marisol’s friend Isabel was more than just a friend.
Mariluna explains this to Gloria. Then Mariluna fell in love with Henry Fordman, a wealthy man who forced her to reject her working-class family.
She made an effort to fix fences by inviting Marisol to her husband’s 50th birthday party, but she didn’t show up and he was killed in a car accident.
The box belonged to Mariluna, whom she had left with Marisol when she and her husband went away. Gloria speculates that the box may be possessed because Mariluna was never able to visit her sister after receiving it. Mariluna thinks that’s a plausible notion, but the sisters loved pranks, so the curse was really just a joke.
In a vehicle, Ines, Demi, Cinnamon and Davina await the arrival of Joker, Davina’s lover who is being cleaned. Ines and Demi decide to get in after discovering the sign of the pedigree. You will be received in the waiting room by the mystic, a lady.
When she holds Ines’ hand, she experiences a shock. She tells them inside that she works with everything related to death and is a post mortem bruja.
In addition, she combined mysticism with pottery and is now adept at binding souls in pottery dolls. She points to a ceramic bowl and claims it belongs to her uncle.
Freeridge Season 1: Storyline
She then explains to the girls that the box wasn’t cursed, but that by trying to remove it they imposed a new curse on themselves.
Mariluna departs with Gloria. When Gloria returns with the package, realizing how much she enjoys having some company, she promises to buy board games. Gloria also exhorts her to pay a visit to her sister’s family, suggesting there is still time.
Gloria thinks she’s in trouble when she sees her father and Lucia outside at home. It turns out that Lucia threatened to sue the school for not verifying Tonio’s identity in order to get the student back in. The bent-arms hanging competition starts right at school, so they hurry to get Gloria there.
Demi and Ines discuss the curse and the possibility that Ines’ father could die at Demi’s house as predicted.
Demi speculates that they may be able to find Marisol’s hidden RollerWorld funds and use it to pay for Javier’s experimental therapy. Hearing this, Joker, who had been dozing off on a nearby couch, opens his eyes.
Andre, whom Cam “accidentally” bumps into, is fully aware that Cam is keeping an eye on him. He is challenged by Andre to wish for a new fixation once more.
Cam admits how upset he was with Andre’s comment about not liking him. He just wants Andre to be his friend. Andre advises him to start with the role.
Gloria jumps into the annual physical challenge while still wearing her pink outfit. She performs the bent arm hang and as her grip relaxes, Rusty appears and tells her not to arch her back. She surpasses the 30-year record by surviving longer.
Lucia and her father set out to return home. Gloria tells Rusty that she really thinks they would make a great couple, but Rusty cuts her off with a kiss. Rusty informs her that Ines lied and that there is no other girl when she asks about the other girl.
Gloria confronts Ines about her lies while celebrating Gloria’s record win at home. Ines is not sure of her motivation.
Gloria calls her a selfish baby and accuses her of not considering the ramifications of her behavior. Ines tries to reassure her that there is no curse, but Gloria tells her that she already knows and that Ines will bring the curse on her.
Ines angrily packs a bag. She notes in Gloria’s Bullet notebook that Ines is the source of the family’s unhappiness.
Later, when she searches for a job with Tonio’s laptop, she finds a file with the title “I’m looking for a handsome young fellow”. She approaches Tonio and challenges him, asking if he hired Rusty to date Gloria. She is warned by Tonio not to inform Gloria.

Freeridge Season 1: Episodes
- Will Gloria be hired as Rusty’s girlfriend? This is an overused cliché that turns the program into more of a melodrama than an entertaining teen comedy-drama.
- Ines’ behavior is still annoyingly infantile. The program would have been much more engaging if she had been more nuanced and relatable.
- I’m not too happy that Cam’s story seems to be heading towards a conflict between Andre and Demi. After everything he and Demi went through to meet each other, it seems like a waste.
- Mariluna, on the other hand, is a completely insane character and I love her. Her zany energy is distinctive and fun, and her past is intriguing as well.
- It’s nice to see the beginnings of what appears to be a funny friendship between her and Gloria. One of the more original plot elements that makes me think of the first episodes is this.
- Gloria’s bent arm hang was just as beautiful as expected, and it’s wonderful to see her and Rusty work through their differences. However, I miss the group more overall. Now to the conclusion!
- One of Netflix’s funniest, most imaginative, and kind shows debuted in 2018 and featured an underrepresented minority.
- A group of four friends were followed in the TV series On My Block growing up in Freeridge, a fictional but violent Los Angeles neighborhood.
- Together they figure out how to avoid gang violence, find inexplicably hidden money, and trust each other.
- The series introduced some of the best actors and most compelling plots to the teen TV show format in just four seasons.
- It proved incredibly original, mixing genre-bending elements like attempted robbery and gun violence with typical format clichés like love triangles, camaraderie and conformity.
- Netflix has revealed a spin-off titled Freeridge is in the works, though many fans are still in shock at the loss of Monse, Ruby, Jamal and Cesar. You’ve come to the right place if you were wondering who we’ll meet on one of Netflix’s most anticipated shows.
Freeridge Season 1: Summary
Freeridge is a coming-of-age comedy from the creators of On My Block that follows feuding siblings Gloria and Ines and their friends Demi and Cameron as they unleash a curse that will bring terrible tragedy to their lives.
It looks like the show is forgoing some of the real gang life elements of previous seasons in favor of one with a stronger supernatural bent.
In this regard, the program will follow in the footsteps of several creepy teen dramas on Netflix, such as B. Wednesday or The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
It would be a waste if the spin-off simply rehashed the issues and situations of the previous series with a new cast and slightly altered dialogue.
It’s evident that the Freeridge writers are intent not only on staying longer, but on evolving and expanding their fictional world to appeal to readers of all genres.
Freeridge Season 1 Release Date
The seasons of On My Block all debuted in March, with the exception of Season 4, which launched in October. Freeridge is also breaking with convention and will debut on February 2, 2023, a month earlier than usual.
Freeridge Season 1: Production
Lauren Iungerich, Eddie Gonzalez, Jeremy Haft, Jamie Uyeshiro, and Jamie Dooner are the authors of Freeridge. On My Block was created by Lauren Iungerich, Eddie Gonzalez, and Jeremy Haft.
Iungerich made her television writing debut with the television adaptation of the well-known teen rom-com of the same name, 10 Things I Hate About You.
The show focused on Kat and Bianca, two sisters who approached high school politics in very different ways but were bonded by the fact that they were both new to the school. They fight, fall in love, and mess around as they adjust to their new surroundings.
Shortly thereafter, Iungerich developed her own black youth comedy “Awkward”. The story portrayed an unpopular teenage girl who, after a series of close encounters, has a bizarre accident that everyone mistakenly interprets as a suicide attempt.
Five seasons of the critically acclaimed program launched Desi Lydic’s career as a correspondent for The Daily Show.
