A registered sex offender was reportedly arrested early August 17 in Paulden, Ariz., after he allegedly broke into a home in Yavapai County and began fondling a teenage girl who was dozing in her bed.
The suspect, 54-year-old Lloyd Alan Beard of Prescott, is a Level 3 sex offender on record with Yavapai County. At around 3 a.m., Yavapai County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a trespassing incident that was taking place at an apartment building near Little Ranch Road and State Route 89 in Paulden. The suspect entered the woman’s home, where her 12-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son also live, according to the sheriff. Beard was reportedly approaching the girl’s bed as she fell asleep.

The teen claimed the suspect touched her face before she managed to wake her mother, who then forcibly removed the man from the home, according to the sheriff’s office. When the mother confronted Beard in the yard, he allegedly bared himself and threatened to “dump” her. Beard then apparently refused to leave the house. According to officials, Beard left the scene shortly after and was followed down the street by the woman and her teenage son. When MPs arrived, they discovered Beard lying on the ground with his pants down and some minor wounds from his fight with the unnamed woman. According to the sheriff, the suspect received medical attention at a hospital prior to his arrest.
According to authorities, Beard has just turned himself in to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office and is a Category 3 sex offender. In Colorado, he had previously been found guilty of “violating privacy for sexual gratification.” Beard was also convicted of a sex offense in Arizona, according to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office criminal record. According to the registry office, he is said to have stayed in the vicinity of the burglary site. As a result, Beard is now charged with, among other things, aggravated assault, second degree burglary, first degree trespassing, indecent exposure, voyeurism and disorderly conduct. According to prison records, he was reportedly being held at the medical facility at the sheriff’s detention center as of Wednesday night. According to authorities, “the mother’s quick action not only spared her daughter further stress, but also helped take a dangerous predator off the road,” Fox told 10 Phoenix.
