After learning of Olivia Newton’s death, John’s American actor John Travolta gave a moving tribute to his former co-star.
On August 8, the 68-year-old actor posted an old photo of the actress to his Instagram account, along with a friendly note.
“Olivia, you’ve made a huge difference in all of our lives. Her influence was enormous. I adore you very much. When we’re all back together, we’ll see each other again. From the second I looked at you, you were all mine. Your John and your Danny!”

John is best known for his participation in the 1978 musical film Grease, in which he played Danny Zuko and Australian actress Sandy Olsson. Travolta signed his moving internet tribute using his Grease character’s name.
The two have a very close friendship and have been through thick and thin together. They have also performed duets such as Summer Nights and You’re the One That I Want.
Some fans have even questioned whether they were romantically engaged because of their connection on and off screen.
Many people are interested in the relationship between John Travolta and Olivia Newton because of their on-screen chemistry and camaraderie. Both critically and commercially, Grease was a smash hit and the two continued to be very active in each other’s lives after the film.
Finally, on the Mamma Mia No Filter podcast in 2018, Olivia addressed the relationship rumors and explained why the two couldn’t date while filming Grease. Olivia was 28 at the time while John was 23.
They also reunited in December 2019 at the Meet n’ Grease Sing-Along in Florida, where they appeared in their well-known roles.
John Travolta spoke about their friendship and the closeness they have as a result of the film’s success in an interview with People Magazine marking the film’s 40th anniversary.
“You share a bond when you experience the kind of success that hasn’t been surpassed. I witnessed her having a child, getting divorced and losing her sister. She witnessed my marriage and birth. It is fantastic and full of memories together.”

John has since publicly shown their affection and tenderness for one another on numerous occasions.
In response to a question about John’s Newton’s cancer in 2019, Travolta offered his support, saying:
She looks the same as she did years ago and I’m so proud of her.
Olivia Newton-John was also spotted commenting on several Instagram photos of Travolta families and children.
1992 marked the beginning of Olivia’s battle with breast cancer. After she was involved in a car accident in 2013, doctors discovered cancer in her shoulder again. When cancer was discovered near her spine in 2017, she entered her third round of treatment.
