Anne Heche, who was previously in a relationship with Ellen DeGeneres, was involved in a serious car accident on Friday, August 5 in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles. Her vehicle collided with a house.
The force of the impact caught fire in both the house and the car.
Reports from local NBC Los Angeles affiliate indicate the crash was reported sometime before 11 a.m. Friday morning. According to the information presented in some other local publications, the incident happened at the 1700 block of South Walgrove Avenue.
She was apparently in critical condition and had suffered severe burns when she was rescued from her car. Heche had been in the car for quite some time. She was rushed to a neighboring medical facility by LAFD paramedics.
Anne Heche was driving a blue Mini Cooper at the time of the brutal crash
According to the statement, it took the 59 firefighters present a little over an hour to put out the fire after it had burned for so long.
According to some sources, Anne Heche was allegedly traveling at high speed in a blue Mini Cooper in the Mar Vista neighborhood when she went off the road and hit the building on Walgrove Ave. 1766 collided. The car may have hit a curb before the accident occurred. This may also have led to the car driving into the house in the first place.
The front yard of the house was damaged when the Mini Cooper crashed. According to Fox 11, a neighbor helped get the homeowner and her pets safely out of the burning house. The house caught fire as a result of the incident.
The actress was found to be awake and breathing normally while being transported on a stretcher in an ambulance. Medics at the nearby hospital were unable to determine whether it was DUI (driving under the influence of alcohol) as the investigation into the entire accident is ongoing. Due to her serious condition at the time, such sobriety tests were not performed at the time.
Before she was involved in the collision, Heche was seen colliding with a garage in an apartment complex, TMZ reported. Locals were trying to help the actress exit her Mini Cooper at the time of the incident. On the other hand, she did a U-turn and left the complex before her second mishap, resulting in her being hospitalized.
