The investigation found that they had engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct. Before the student and Cartwright found out about the incident, they reportedly crossed paths about 15 times.
MPD investigators presented the evidence before the Sumner County Grand Jury in August 2022. According to police, Cartwright was accused of having inappropriate relationships with minors and repeatedly sexually abusing them.

The young person and the senior had gone through all the stages in the two years. After presenting the evidence to the jury, they returned sealed indictments against the teacher’s assistant who engaged in ongoing sexual abuse of minor and uncoerced sexual activity with a person in a position of authority.
