According to the report, Fetty Wap filed a guilty plea to a marijuana possession charge on Aug. 22, 2022. There is a possibility that he could serve a five-year sentence. Wap and five other people were charged with possession and distribution of 220 pounds of heroin, fentanyl and crack cocaine in upstate New York between June 2019 and June 2020. In an Instagram video posted on September 28, 2021, Fetty Wap gave a sneak peek of the song “Out The Hood.” The caption for the video read “10/22 TBE,” sparking rumors of an upcoming single or mixtape release. Later, on October 13, 2021, Fetty Wap revealed the official cover art for The Butterfly Effect album, stating that it would be his second studio album and would be released six years after the release of his debut. After a series of mixtape releases and legal issues, Fetty Wap re-emerged with the official release of this album on October 22, 2021, marking the beginning of his comeback. The album’s name is a tribute to his late daughter Lauren, from whom he took inspiration for both the album’s name and some of the songs.
