Elizabeth Wettlaufer, a legendary Canadian serial killer, is the subject of the upcoming episode of Living With a Serial Killer Season 2 on Oxygen. She murdered eight elderly adults while working as a nurse in Ontario, and she also attempted to murder six others.

According to Judge Gillese, Elizabeth Wettlaufer would have continued to kill had she not confessed. Nobody in long-term care thought a healthcare worker could hurt patients, and nothing in the system could have stopped her.

While practicing nursing in Ontario between 2007 and 2016, Elizabeth Wettlaufer killed eight elderly people. She gave her elderly patients allegedly lethal doses of insulin, as reported by Oxygen, including (found by Oxygen):

The victims’ families reportedly thought they died of natural causes.
Also, Sandra Towler, 77, and Beverly Bertram were among the other people the former nurse attempted to murder, 68.
In late 2016, Wettlaufer attended the Toronto Addiction and Mental Health Center, where she allegedly confessed to her crimes. Local police and the Ontario College of Nurses were later notified by the center’s staff.
After Wettlaufer’s arrest on October 24, 2016 for deliberately administering lethal insulin to six other people, she also admitted to the murder of eight elderly people. She ended up receiving eight concurrent life sentences with a 25-year probation requirement.
