The September 2022 New York Fashion Week tentative schedule has been released by the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

Proenza Schouler’s runway show opens New York Fashion Week on September 9, 2022 at 4 p.m. On September 14, 2022 at 8 p.m., Tom Ford’s performance puts an end to everything. New York Fashion Week is scheduled to coincide with IMG’s NYFW: The Shows Project.

Spring Studios will once again serve as the focal point for New York Fashion Week, taking place September 9-14. Performances are held at other locations throughout New York City in addition to Spring Studios. Steven Kolb, Chief Executive Officer of the CFDA stated in a press release:

“The city itself and the way it continues to inspire our artists is one of the assets of NYFW. A number of shows will continue to be held at Spring Studios, but designers will also continue to exhibit in other distinctive spaces and areas of New York.”
More than 109 confirmed designers and labels are featured in the CFDA’s preliminary program, including Michael Kors, Coach, Gabriela Hearst, Brandon Maxwell, Christian Siariano, Dion Lee, Interior, Barragan, Altuzarra and more.

After a brief absence, companies like Tommy Hilfiger, Puma and Area are returning to New York Fashion Week. In the press release referenced above, Steven Kolb talks about the September show and the CFDA’s involvement in it. He claims:

“September demonstrates the continued success of the CFDA and the significant exposure that NYFW brings to brands. This season has the greatest diversity in NYFW history, along with notable foreign talent, returning designers, debut shows and our CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists.”
On September 11, 2022 at 7 a.m., Hilfiger will be showcasing its lineup at Brooklyn’s Skyline Drive-In and another metaverse. On September 13, 2022 at 9 p.m., a Furtrograde catwalk show featuring music, sports and fashion will debut the Puma line.

NYFW newcomers include Ashlyn, Foo & Food, AnOnly Child, Midnight Studios, LoveShackFancy and Tia Adeola.

Marni, Fendi and Co. are just a few of the many international companies that will present themselves this week on September 9th, 10th and 13th.

On the occasion of the significant anniversary of the CFDA and the formation, Kolb said:

The official New York Fashion Week calendar is organized by the CFDA, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. We are thrilled to announce a lineup that embodies our founding principle: to advance American fashion on a global scale.”

Added him:

“Together with our distinguished overseas guests, we look forward to a successful American collection season in which we celebrate the collaborative greatness, diversity and resilience of our industry.
All fashion events will follow the rules established by the New York State Health Department. Events will be broadcast and presented live on Runway 360, the CFDA’s business tool and digital hub.
