After just a year of marriage, Randy filed for divorce from his wife Judy and immediately started dating again. Dana was in a relationship with Randy at the time and in 1985 the couple received the gift of a daughter named Ashley. Although Dana carried Randy’s child during her pregnancy, Dana and Randy did not live together as their relationship was not considered serious.
After the birth of Ashely, the two could often be heard arguing about the visitation schedule that would allow Randy to spend time with his own daughter. Desperate to end her previous relationship, Dana didn’t want Randy to be a part of her life or that of her daughter Ashley.
Sheridan eventually married his first wife, Judy, and they had another daughter together. As a direct result, the trajectory of their relationship started moving in the right direction again. During this time, Dana also welcomed a child into the world, having married a man named Steve Flynn in the late 1980s.
Mikel Dreiling was pushed by Pastor Jerry and Dana Flynn into murdering Randy
With the support of Pastor Jerry A. Rollins, Dana consistently portrayed Randy in a negative light to all other members of the church.
As a result, many labeled him a “bad man,” and a pastor named Jerry declared that “God wants him dead.” This demonization not only affects the church neighborhood, but also Dana’s younger brother Mikel, who took part in the murder and was sentenced to 23 years in prison; It will be released in October 2019.

Judy and Randy’s relationship had gone through a series of ups and downs, but things started to get better for them after the birth of their daughter. Dana, who claimed her ex-boyfriend molested his own daughter, was the source of the conflict rather than her marriage, which wasn’t the issue.

Instead, it turned out that Dana tutored her child to gain an advantage in the custody battle she was involved in.
Conflict over the Randy Sheridan case and his custody
Prior to his death, Sheridan was in the midst of a significant custody battle over his daughter, Ashley. He was concerned that Dana’s behavior was not having a positive impact on his daughter and he wished to have full custody of his daughter.
Ironically, Sheridan had a court hearing in Junction City the day before he was shot. At the hearing, he asked the court to allow him to take Ashley on a vacation trip with his family. The court granted his request. The motion was approved by the court and Dana was scheduled to hand over custody of their child to Randy the next day. Unfortunately for Randall, however, Dana had other plans in mind for Randall.

The siblings’ explanation was incoherent, and they were caught red-handed in their deception.
However, the process of her arrest was slowed down as the police could not locate the murder weapon and could not find it anywhere near the crime scene. The prosecutor spent a total of four grueling years on the case before successfully convicting the convicted killers of first-degree murder. The grand jury ruled in 1996 that Dana and Mikel, who are siblings, should each receive life sentences with the possibility of parole after serving 19 years. Mikel was paroled and released from prison in October 2019. After his release, he told Oxygen everything that happened on December day 1992.
