Update on the murder of Officer Daniel Green
Erika Sandoval, Daniel Green’s ex-wife, has admitted to killing him but the court has not yet reached a verdict.
The judge declared a mistrial when the Tulare County jury failed to reach a consensus on the first-degree murder charge.
After careful consideration, the 12-member jury voted 11 to 1 to find the accused guilty.
In 2010, Daniel Green worked as a police officer in Exeter, California. That same year he married Erika Sandoval, a 23-year-old trainee nurse.
Their short relationship has seen great ups and terrible downs during which they viciously fought.
Daniel’s twin brother, Matt Green, and younger sister, Misty Gray, thought their wife was both mentally and physically abusive to Daniel.
Matt Green claimed that Sandoval broke furniture in a fit of rage and could make her strong brother cry.
After her arrest, Sandoval admitted to police that she was “disturbed” by Daniel’s new relationship.
