Brian MacKinnon: Who is he? Information about the school scammer

Adult male Brian MacKinnon successfully posed as a teenager named Brandon Lee by enrolling as a fifth-year student at Bearsden Academy and claiming to be a 17-year-old from Canada.

Throughout the 1993–1994 school year, Brian convinced his Scottish high school classmates and teachers that he was just a normal student. Before his secret life was discovered, he received a 5-grade A top grade and a place to study medicine at the University of Dundee.

Jono McLeod’s documentary, which chronicles MacKinnon’s longing to become a doctor, was released in January this year. My Old School documents Brian’s betrayal of his former professors and acquaintances.

When MacKinnon enrolled as a fifth-year student at his old school in 1993, he was 30 and pretending to be Brandon Lee. MacKinnon asked that his face not be shown in the film. Alan Cumming, a Scottish actor, then lip-synched his statement.

How old is Brian MacKinnon?

On June 4, 1963, Brian MacKinnon, a Scotsman best known for returning to medical school by impersonating the teenage Brandon Lee, was born. He was a medical student at the University of Glasgow but was expelled after failing his exams.

He took on the character of Canadian youth Brandon Lee, an orphaned teenager living with his grandmother in order to retake his advanced exams in order to bypass his academic records and attempt to become a doctor again because he was determined to become one will.
