On August 14th, Episode 6 of the popular game show Celebrity Family Feud will feature a new cast of famous competitors. In the first round of this episode’s competition, Kristin Chenoweth and Kathy Najimy go head-to-head, while in the second round, the cast of My Unorthodox Life and Summer House go head-to-head. First Round’s Kathy Najimy, 65, is an accomplished actress, director, writer, producer and activist who has appeared in over 25 motion pictures and more than 100 television shows.

Celebrities appearing on Celebrity Family Feud compete in a light-hearted quiz show with their next of kin. It’s interesting to note that viewers also answer the questions, and for the celebrity to win, their answers must match the celebrity’s.

The official summary of the show is as follows:

“The sixth season of this talk show is hosted by stand-up comedian, actor, author and Emmy® winner Steve Harvey! In the acclaimed game show, celebrities and members of their immediate families or extended TV families compete to name the most popular answers to questions asked of 100 contestants to win money for a charity of their choice.”

Actress, activist and star of celebrity family feud Kathy Najimy

65-year-old San Diego, California is the birthplace of Kathy Najimy. Najimy, who was raised Maronite Catholic, graduated from San Diego State University after attending Crawford High School. She started her film career in 1990 with films like The Fisher King, Soapdish, This Is My Life, The Hard Way etc. Sister Mary Patrick was her first significant role, appearing in the 1992 comedy Sister Act.

As the captain of the NYPD Major Crimes, Najimy also starred in Unforgettable, a regular cop show on A&E. She recently appeared on television in Younger and HBO’s Veep. For fourteen seasons of the Emmy Award-winning King of the Hill, Najimy received numerous honors for portraying Peggy Hill. She also starred opposite Kirstie Alley on NBC’s Veronica’s Closet as Olive for three seasons and was a regular on the shows Numbers and The Big C.

On the theatrical scene, Nijamy portrayed the illustrious character of Mae West in the smashing Broadway production of Dirty Blonde.

The Celebrity Family Feud contestant co-wrote two critically acclaimed hit HBO specials for The Kathy and Mo Show with Mo Gaffney.

On the other hand, Najimy has done an admirable job as an activist. The actress, who describes herself as a feminist, has received multiple awards for her efforts to advance the rights of women, girls, LGBT+ people and AIDS victims, among others. She also actively leads campaigns to end the immigration ban, uphold reproductive rights, end New York’s carriage horses, and bring back the ERA.

The 2016 activist received Ms. Magazine’s Woman of the Year and the NY Lily Award for Actress/Activist of the Year. She currently resides in New York City with her husband, Dan Finnerty of The Dan Band, and their daughter. Singer-songwriter-actress Samia.
