Georgia’s Byron: On July 18, the Byron Georgia Police Department released harrowing, silent dashcam video that showed a Georgia woman ramming her SUV into officers and police vehicles with a small child in the back seat. When she is finally arrested, the woman says, “I didn’t do it!” The incident happened on July 15. According to the police press release, Byron Police Officers were dispatched to the scene where a female motorist allegedly drove an SUV carelessly on GA Highway 42 and “pushed into a different lane and nearly collided with oncoming vehicles.”
She was “uncooperative,” and when police caught up with her at the Highway 49 intersection, they partially stopped the SUV and placed a stop stick, which deflated the tires. In case she drove away, police placed stopsticks under her tires to deflate them. Sierra Hibbert was named as a woman. The Byron Georgia Police Department released the audio and video of the car crash on Tuesday, July 19.
According to the footage, Hibbert accelerated the SUV backwards, hit a car that was behind her, and then accelerated forward, hitting two witnesses, one of whom was thrown to the ground in the path of the moving vehicle. The witness jumped in the air to avoid being trapped between the SUV and a police car, as shown in the video, as she backed up and started moving forward again.
The bizarre video shows a Georgia woman crashing her SUV into cars and law enforcement.
In the video, officers can be seen getting into their vehicles and following the SUV onto Highway 49. Officers try to stop the car, which is flattened by the stop stick, but the driver first reverses into a third police vehicle, then moves forward and hits another police vehicle twice. The SUV drives away in a puff of smoke coming out of its tires, leaving debris and skid marks as the officer tries to force open her passenger-side window. The police again barricaded her inside and after a struggle they managed to get her out of the SUV and handcuff her.
Hibbert is shown on bodycam video with audio, initially refusing to get out of the car before oddly claiming, “I didn’t do anything.” She constantly claims, “I didn’t do it,” and says, “I did didn’t do what you’re talking about,” despite police and others telling her she nearly killed people and damaged police vehicles. Police did not provide information on the child’s age or relationship with Hibbert.
