According to her 9.7 million Instagram followers, YouTuber and actress Annie LeBlanc (aka Jules LeBlanc) was hospitalized on August 5 after suffering injuries in a hit-and-run accident.
In an official statement on Jules’ Instagram story, her team reported that the YouTuber and her companions were walking across the Santa Monica intersection when a drunk driver “flew past a red light.”
The Instagram account also revealed that firefighters, paramedics and emergency services were immediately dispatched to the area. After the collision, LeBlanc’s “face and legs were bloodied, scratched and bruised, but fortunately she had no broken bones or significant injuries.” She is reportedly healing and is expected to return to normal soon.
The note to her fans also revealed that Santa Monica police “quickly arrested the drunk driver.”
The last line of the statement included a warning about the dangers of drunk driving:

LeBlanc was known as “Annie” when she rose to fame on Nickelodeon for her role in Side Hustle. However, she stated that she would change her name to Jules LeBlanc in October 2020.
The actress later admitted that the name change wasn’t as significant as one might have believed. She appears as Julianna Grace LeBlanc; Annie was just a nickname she used. Since her younger brother couldn’t say “Julianna,” the actress reportedly went by the nickname “Annie.”
She explained on social media that she had reverted to her maiden name Jules:
Unexpectedly, many people liked it. The situation didn’t suit me. I feel like some people are mad at me for some reason for doing it. Everything will be fine and beautiful. I’m not sure how to properly inform everyone.
On social media sites like TikTok, the online sensation changed her name to Annie; but as of March 2021, LeBlanc goes by the name “Jules.” She clarified in a live Instagram video:
“I’ll start by calling Jules, but my real name is Julianna.”
She also explained during the Instagram Live that she would be changing her name to “Jules” on Instagram:
